DOB 8/25/92 Zachary has been in agency custody since November 2006. Permanent custody of Zachary was just obtained by the agency. Zachary lived with his grandparents from an early age due to neglect, domestic violence, and drug use of the parents. Zachary has been adjudicated of sexually offending his younger brother, and completed the Juvenile Residential Center programming. After completion of the program Zachary was returned to grandparents custody, however, they were unable to meet the terms of his safeguards relating to his sexual offender’s therapy and probation. Visitation with the grandparents and siblings does continue at this point in time, and grandparents would like to remain involved in Zachary’s life even though they are unable to care for him.
Zachary has been placed with the same family throughout agency custody, and has found success. Zachary has worked hard, and is no longer in need of IEP assistance at school. Zachary has also found success in running, and participated this past school year at the varsity level in some cross country and track events. Zachary is also learning to play the guitar.
Zachary is still in need of therapy related to issues surrounding permanent custody and his past offending behaviors, but is on no medication. Zachary is also on probation for his offense, but has no registration requirements. Overall behaviors are pretty good, but Zachary is in need of constant supervision. Current placement is in a two parent family, and Zachary is always with one of them. Zachary would probably do best in a home in which he is the only or youngest child as he tends to have jealousy issues. Zachary has had some aggressive behaviors, but it tends to be directed at younger children. Zachary is somewhat socially delayed, and does not pay attention to age gaps.
Zachary is in need of a permanent family that can provide for the supervision and follow through with services he needs.
