Joshua is 13 years old. Joshua enjoys playing video games, basketball and loves being outside. He likes to joke around and is shy at first but warms up when he gets to know you.
Joshua has been in the same foster home since coming into care for the second time in November 2006. He came into care due to neglect. Joshua was in care between April 2006 and June 2006 due to his grandmother’s health. In November 2006, he came back into care due to his grandmother not able to protect the children in the home. Joshua’s grandmother has since passed away.
Joshua was raised primarily by his grandmother whom he called mom. He has had a limited relationship with his mother and has had no contact with his father since he was a small child.
Joshua attends school and is on an IEP for learning delays. At times, he does not perform to his potential and receives average grades. Joshua attends counseling and has been diagnosed with ADHD. Upon coming into care, Joshua stopped taking his medication and has been doing well. Joshua at times can be defiant and stubborn but is open to talking about his problems.
Joshua states he is interested in adoption. Joshua is in need of a permanent forever home that can provide structure and stability. He would like siblings around his age or older.
